Identity, sameness,
non-difference The pantheist experiences the
fundamental identity1 of the Universe2 and God.3 In other words, he/she grasps4
the Universe as GOD (revealed).5 Since the Universe, indeed each single
emergent thereof, and GOD are identical, one of the two is or can be made
redundant. That is to say, a ‘i.e. any’ emergent can choose to fulfil either
the requirements of the Universe or those of GOD.6 The (mature) adult human (being a God
manifestation) chooses the Universe and gets on with the task of making the
Universe (and so GOD) more user friendly.7 The (infantile) priest
chooses GOD before the Universe. By so doing he embarks on a magical mystery
tour8 whose purpose it is to create the model of a selected,
perfect Universe9 which serves as focus10 for effort. For either to succeed they have to
(almost) eliminate the ‘other.’11.12,13 © 2019 by

1. That is to say, the fundamental non-difference (Sanskrit:
advaita)
between the Universe and GOD whereby the relationship between the Universe
and GOD is that between (inferred) algorithm/fractal (i.e. GOD) its actually experienced elaboratios. 2. For ‘universe’ (as private or public world) read:
the (or any) aggregate of individual identifiable realities. 3. For ‘GOD’ read: an inferred Guide & Control,
thus creation rules model, i.e. a creation or emergence algorithm/fractal
that is inferred from its elaborations whereby the algorithm (i.e. GOD, the
Tao) itself, lacking elaboration, i.e. attributes, remains unknowable. The
GOD/creation algorithm is fundamentally a (locally) fantasised inference derived
from experience/contact, i.e. from identifiable realness. 4. i.e. He/she fantasises that the universe (i.e. the
world, the cosmos), and not just a few written words such as the Veda, is
Brahman/Atman is GOD (elaborated). In short, whereas the Brahmin priest
declares a selected selection of writings sruti (i.e. revealed) the
pantheist declares all emerged phenomena as sruti (i.e. revealed). 5. Whereby the Universe (i.e. the secular or profane),
i.e. (unconstrained) ‘nature tooth and claw’ came first. GOD (i.e. the divine
or sacred) is inferred (i.e. fantasised), indeed invented as formal focus to
help conquer nature by constraining its ruthless and brutal, i.e. user
unfriendly rules. In other words, fantasy (and its products) is, indeed,
fantasy bubbles are, used as tools to pull nature’s teeth and clip its claws. 6. If the emergent chooses the universe (and its liberal-to-unrestricted
rules) over (a) GOD (as selected and so restrictive rules), then the former
evolves at the expense of the latter. Cultures that choose the universe
(-as-GOD) by ridding themselves of their priests who choose GOD (as-the-universe)
blossom/elaborate (into actual enlightenment and release). Cultures that
submit to the rules of priests stagnate (in (virtual) darkness and
confinement/serfdom). India before and after Shankara
submitted to Brahmin rule and to the Brahmins’ human, namely the other world
oriented jivan-mukta
ideal and so stagnated and degraded. Idem those Islamic cultures where the
mullahs, specifically the Wahhabis, rule. 7. And thereby achieving release and relief, i.e.
Sanskrit moksha. Penance
(i.e. tapas, sacrifice) for the GOD-man is relinquishing, burning off worldly
attributes/elaborations. Penance (i.e. sacrifice) for the man-GOD is burning
up in the process of completing the job at hand. 8. The GOD-as-selected-rules-set fantasy is designed
for and used to imprint and groom the defenceless young and the helpless old
to protect them from the Universe, i.e. from nature’s teeth and claws. 9. i.e. a heavenly eutopia
like the naïve ones St Paul, St Augustin and Shankara
(et al) fantasized. 10. i.e. as Guide & Control device. 11. In Europe the Age of Enlightenment and the
Industrial Revolution, and which served to weaken the awful struggle against ‘nature
tooth and claw’, i.e. the Universe as natura naturans, were ushered in with the command: ‘Kill the
priest!’ 12. The struggle between church (i.e. GOD) and state
(i.e. the Universe, i.e. mammon) was decided, in Europe at least, with the
French Revolution and the Age of Enlightenment when the Universe was chosen
over GOD. This never happened in India because there the God-men, the
Brahmins, specifically Shankara, were too powerful. 13. The struggle is not actually between GOD and the
Universe (and which are identical) but between ‘the people’ who seek
unrestricted personal freedom of expression (i.e. the liberals) and the rule
makers (i.e. the conservatives) who seek to restrict that freedom for their
own good ‘sold ‘as the common good. |
